LaunchCLT Venture Freeze Out Hunger Named Winner of 2025 Health Equity Innovation Challenge

We’re proud to share that Freeze Out Hunger, a LaunchCLT venture founded by Aleksandra Stein, has been named a winner of the 2025 Health Equity Innovation Challenge.

The Health Equity Innovation Challenge is hosted by the Flywheel Foundation and supported by title sponsor Advocate/Atrium Health – Greater Charlotte North Area, the Lilly Foundation, and a coalition of regional partners. Now in its third year, the program recognizes and accelerates companies building solutions that address health disparities and social drivers of health across underserved communities in the Charlotte region.

Freeze Out Hunger was selected as one of five winning companies from a highly competitive applicant pool that saw a surge in national interest from health equity organizations, foundations, and innovators. Winners receive seed funding, accelerator programming, and 18 months of incubation, along with the opportunity to pilot their solutions with Advocate/Atrium Health, one of the largest healthcare systems in the country.

“I am inspired to be joining a community committed to creating partnerships and opportunities. I am excited to learn from and with folks who are leading through action,” said Aleksandra Stein, Founder & CEO of Freeze Out Hunger.

Finalists pitched to the Health Equity Innovation Challenge Advisory Board at the Cabarrus Center in Concord, NC after advancing through a screening process led by sponsors and community organizations focused on addressing leading indicators of health disparities.

We’re incredibly proud of Aleksandra and the Freeze Out Hunger team for earning this recognition and for their commitment to building solutions that create meaningful, lasting impact.

Congratulations to Freeze Out Hunger on this well-deserved win!
